The Prinzhorn Project is a series i created as an artist-in-residence at the Prinzhorn Collection of the art of the insane in Heidelberg, Germany. They constitute a 'dialogue' with Clemens von Oertzen, a naval officer who in the 1880's, after a failed suicide attempt was committed to an insane asylum, where he began to draw. He remained in the asylum for the rest of his long life and while towards the end he no longer spoke, he never stopped drawing.
